Welcome Event
The 4Rs Conference Welcome - 30 September 2008
Delegates are invited to join Professor Vicki Sara, UTS Chancellor, the Conference Convenor, Professor Andrew Jakubowicz, Conference Secretary, Maqsood Alshams, and other dignitaries at the welcome event.
Her Excellency, Professor Marie Bashir AC, Governor of New South Wales, will formally open the conference and speak about social inclusion and cultural diversity, human rights and reconciliation.
Acknowledgement to Country will be given by Joan Tranter, Equity and Diversity Co-ordinator, University of Technology Sydney.
Stepan Kerkyasharian AM, Chairperson and Chief Executive Officer, Community Relations Commission of New South Wales and President, Anti–Discrimination Board will speak.
Sydney’s Solidarity Choir will perform.
The opening will be held in University Hall, Building 4, 745 Harris Street, Ultimo, followed by a Reception in the Peter Johnson Building opposite.
The Welcome Event is covered by the Registration Fee and includes drinks, finger-food and entertainment.
